Banting Murders : Change the Laws (16/09/2010)
THE entire nation is enraged over the killings of Datuk Sosilawati, Lawiya her lawyer, banker and driver.
It is extremely sad to learn that Sosilawati, who had struggled in life to build a strong business and even tapped rubber to make ends meet, has been brutally murdered.
My heart sinks whenever I read the news. I hope the culprits are made to pay for it.
Many Malaysians do not fear the law, and there is talk that some of the better connected criminals can get away with it; that money can buy anything.
Many murder cases have been thrown out because of the failure in prosecuting the cases.
What Malaysia needs now is the implementation and enforcement of Islamic laws. Islamic laws will change the attitude of criminals who think they have power just because they have the money. These criminals who think they can break all rules and buy themselves out of trouble would be hit hard by Islamic laws.
The assets of criminals must be seized and distributed to the families of their victims.
